A native PS5 version of the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance appears to be on the way, according to newly updated PS Store pages mentioning the enhanced edition.
On the UK PS Store page for the PS4 version of the RPG, the description now has the following:
The PS5 version of Kingdom Come: Deliverance now features graphical upgrades including 4K resolution, an improved frame rate, high-resolution textures, and much more. Medieval Bohemia has never looked so beautiful.

Warhose Studios hasn't confirmed a PS5 version of the first game is in the works, but it was claimed last year that such a version is on the way by PlayStation Game Size. With the new text string on the PS Store, it appears this new edition is indeed real.
The description suggests the RPG will now run at a 4K resolution and have higher frame rates than the PS4 version, where it runs at 30 frames-per-second. Should the new version be officially confirmed, we'll have an update on the site.
Would you go back to the first Kingdom Come: Deliverance with better visuals and frame rates? Let us know in the comments below.

After losing myself in KCD2 recently, I definitely want to check this out.
If the combat is improved and lockpicking like it sequel..Then yes..
I tried this a while ago and couldn’t get into it, but after seeing so many good things about the second I’m tempted to try again, a ps5 version would definitely make me more interested
Hope its a free upgrade.
I bought this game last month (with all the DLCs) in hopes of a PS5 version and I'm still waiting for it so i can start playing it properly. 30fps with head bobbing made me so nauseous, i can't play the PS4 version
KCD1 was definitely held back by PS4 hardware. . . I remember constantly riding into a textureless Rattay and fields full of flowers only popping in about 10 yards in front of Henry . . . So this will be a nice and much-needed update. Some little convenience features from the sequel (outfit loadouts, weapon switching) would be an amazing bonus.
@DennisReynolds Yeah if it's not a free upgrade that will be kind of an L, but would be ok if it's £10
“the PS4 version, where it runs at 30 frames-per-second“
I don’t think that game hits 30. I hope this is an update and not a new edition to buy. This should be a free update with how poor the game runs. I remember trying it on Extra and the frame rate was so low I immediately stopped after stepping outside the house. I’ll definitely give it another go With this update since I bought the ultimate edition for $10.
@Oram77 @DennisReynolds If it's not free, as long as there's a reasonable upgrade i'm OK with that too.
Dang. I would love to give this game another shot. I tried playing it originally on PC... But that was when the game was a performance hog. I never finished it, only ever made it pass the opening event.
The original on PS4 made my head hurt so hopefully this upgrade is a good improvement.
@themightyant I know it's not going to happened but I would love if they brought the combat improvements from KCD2 to this game, as it's very *rough*at best.
I've been wanting to play KCD1 before diving into 2, so this actually fantastic news!
Considering this game is a 10 for me, even despite lots of bugs and texture issues, of course i'd be interested to see how it looks upgraded on PS5.
But don't be expect it to be as easy and user friendly as KCD2, people. It is supposed to be a gut punch and you have to learn to live with the consequences of how you f***ed up if you weren't paying attention 😁
Left Henry at some church in Sasau and stopped playing after hearing rumours of a PS5 version. Still not done with KCD2 even.
I wonder if Switch 2 will get a version as well. I have the PS4 version on PS5 already but might be interested in Switch 2 one, if it comes out
@Ravix You'd think for how even a single enemy can game over you, Warhorse would reduce enemy awareness like FromSoftware but no, they have the sharpest of senses. I get why some people won't bother, KCD is just brutal especially the first.
Aw crap. Now I have to grind out the King Charming trophy again!
Great news for everyone!
@TheArt Lol why did you leave him at a church, to atone for his sins? Maybe he'll be a new man if you ever decide to return to the game.
Easy mode?? Just want to explore the scenery as it reminds me of England and not have too much stress with it lol real life is stressfull enough right now 🤣
I hope for a good Switch 2 version. Dozens of hours for a playthrough are easier to integrate into my daily life by using breaks. Turning on the Switch 2 for 5 min of play is a no-brainer.
I hated the first game in 2018, but after spending nearly 200 hours with it's sequel, I think I "get it" now and hopefully will enjoy the first one now. I'm going to wait for the native PS5 version though.
Great news. Great game. I'd love to replay it in 4K 60fps with hardcore mode enabled and negative perks.
Looking forward to learning sword techniques from Bernard again. Then giving him a good hiding every single training session.
I bought it on my PS5 Pro a while ago and it looked pretty decent (edit: actually it looked damn good still).
It wasn't exactly screaming out for a higher frame rate as its a very slow game.
Don't think fans of 2 should be put off of trying the original if there isn't an update.
At the same time it does feel like now would be a good time to release one and exploit the interest that 2 has generated.
@StitchJones Yep left him there to confess after what he did with Theresa in that barn. Geralt of Rivia would even have to take lessons.
@themightyant If it costs i might not bother as i only finished it a couple of years back. I have no urge to replay it any time soon so it would very much be play for a few hours to check out the upgrades and then put on the HDD until i decide to replay it later down the line.
@TheArt Who's Theresa, the local kitchen wench?
As others mentioned i hope there is a reasonable upgrade path for this one.
I really didn't gel with it when I tried it, and as such I've stayed away from the sequel too, but I want to try it out again because of the praise they both get.
@StitchJones The girl that saved you in the beginning, living with the Miller. You didn't date her I guess...
Any improvements that just make it all run a bit smoother and maybe some QOL updates to bring it in line more with 2 would be great because hopefully it might persuade those who jumped off it early to give it another try. Because once you get past that rather unforgiving first hours it is in many ways the equal of 2 and in a few ways it is superior. It's just getting far enough that it clicks and then everything else is so good you don't even notice the flaws (though they are glaring and it's not in a charming way).
I'm not sure I could pick between 1 or 2 as which is my favourite.
The fact I got The Royal Edition with all DLC for about £3.79 still feels like I personally robbed Warhorse Studios. Ridiculous!
I was definitely hoping it would have more gameplay or UI updates to bring it in line with improvements made in KCD2, but based on the description, it just seems like a normal resolution bump, improved textures, frame rate... I'll still take it though.
So glad I just put 80 hours into the old version. Should have waited. Doh!
@StitchJones She best girl 🥰
@TheArt Honestly, I never played KCD1. Idk why, I love RPG's. I did indeed play/beat KCD2 and absolutely loved that game. Maybe with a ps5 ver. of 1, I'll finally play it
@DennisReynolds why, she a total hottie or what? You gooning for Theresa? lmao
@Ravix How does it compare to KCII? I adored the sequel but never touched the first game cos it ran like a turd on PS4. Would you recommend?
@JB_Whiting I found it a slog on ps4, some people say its the better game , but thats on pc, its rough on ps4 , a ps5 update is very much appreciated, warhorse was asked years ago about a ps5 update , they flatout said no , glad to see theyve changed their minds.
@JB_Whiting I kind of prefer it as a whole as it is a little more cerebral and you have to be on your toes during quests, but both are great games 😄
4K and frame rate is fine and all, but after talking to dozens of npc you start to realize that they all have the same five faces with and without goatees your brain starts to break, biggest improvement in kcd2 was npc face diversity.
@StitchJones Nah its more she's the best writing female love interest in the series and after you romanced her she still exists, she makes you stuff, you can talk to her and go on dates. Katherine might have more to do in the main story of KC2 and she obviously has her
looks (thanks to her stunning face model she's based on) but as a love interest she's pretty weak and it feels like you only pick her for um two big reasons you know will be revealed in a love scene 😂😂😂 Theresa just feels like Henry's true love rather then a fling that won't go anyway once reality sets in. Finally you actually play as Theresa in a pretty lengthy DLC so you the player feel more connected to her because of that.
I had bought the game on sale awhile back and only played a few hours so if they come out with a PS5 version it'll be great timing
Playing this game reminded me of this one time I was stuck in a small town's visitor center for five hours.
I hope this will mean it will be available to cloud stream it to the PS Portal.
Bought this a few months back but really couldn't get into it. it feels like a game that is impossible to play without using a guide so not my cup of tea at all. Oops nvm, thought it was KCD2 which is what I bought, can KCD2 be played without a guide? I hate using guides.
I’m currently 130+ hours into KCD2, focusing on completing almost all of the objectives before continuing with the main quest. The big city is quite impressive for a first person RPG.
